What “all-in pricing” means here
A ticket listed at $100 costs $100. That sounds obvious, but across much of the ticket industry it isn't: the common practice — drip pricing — advertises a lower price, then stacks service and processing fees onto the final screen after you've invested ten minutes picking seats. The Federal Trade Commission's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees, in effect since May 2025, now requires live-event ticket sellers to display the total price up front. We didn't need to change anything to comply: TheKingOfTickets.com has shown all-in prices from the start, on every listing, every seat map, and every price statistic we publish. In our case “all-in” is the simplest version of itself — there is no service fee folded into the number, because we don't charge one.
The one exception worth stating plainly, because it's the only thing that can change your total: sales tax. Some states tax ticket sales, and it depends on where the event is held rather than where you live — buy for a show in most states and nothing is added at all. Where a state does charge it, the tax appears as its own line on the checkout page before you enter any payment details, so you always see the final number before you commit. It's set by the state and county, and it isn't a fee we charge or keep.
That last part matters more than it sounds. Our category, city, and performer pages publish live price data — ranges, averages, cheapest-by-team tables — and every figure uses the same all-in basis as the checkout total. When our league tables quote a get-in price, that's the out-the-door number — not a base price waiting for fees.
